Frebelt history
The story of Frebelt begins in 1979 when Hans Fredriksson is asked by Habasit to carry out some work in Boden.
Hans is employed as an officer in the Swedish Armed Forces at the time, but he accepts the job offer. When the work is finished and it is time for him to receive his payment Hans decides to start his own company which he names Transflex HB. He decides to only work part-time for the Armed Forces and to set up an office in his home. His wife Brita also becomes involved in the company managing the finances part-time.
Transflex' first assignment is to construct conveyor belts for a company in Västerbotten and this sets the wheels in motion. As the company's network of customers and industry partners grows new machinery is purchased. The company is built up gradually and in 1987 Transflex has grown so much that it can no longer be run as a sideline operation. Hans ends his career with the Armed Forces in order to commit full-time to the company. At the same time Hans and the family move to Hans' grandfather's farm and the Transflex workshop finds a home in one of the larger buildings – the office remains in the family living quarters. Transflex continues its successful journey and three years later the company is transformed into a joint-stock company and renamed Frebelt AB. In 1999 the office becomes too small and a new one is built in a separate building. Brita now begins to work full-time for Frebelt. The company continues to expand and in 2005 moves to newly renovated premises that are designed to house the entire operation. The company now also employs a second Fredriksson generation.
What originally began as a sideline operation in a home garage is now a successful company that employs nine people. Frebelt is a company that is characterized by a genuine, down-to-earth spirit where a long-term perspective and personality form two important cornerstones.
